The best time to make up missed prayers
Because we’re well into the last 10 days & nights of Ramadan I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately on the best way to approach them and what to do during these blessed nights.
My generic answer has been to recite the Forgiveness dua, give some charity and pray a little extra during every night, in the last hour of the night before the pre-dawn (fajr) prayer.
However, it’s important to be aware of the reality that leads us to do these ‘extras’ during the last 10 nights: we’re looking for the Night of Power, which the Quran says, “is better than a thousand months”.
Let’s think about that for a moment. This one night, in which the Quran was sent down, is literally more powerful than a thousand months. A thousand months is just over 83 years, which is the equivalent of a life-time.
So, if you pray on this night, it’s as if you’ve prayed every night for 83 years.
If you give £1 in charity, it’s as if you gave £30,000.
And that brings me to a powerful point about how to get the biggest possible return on your investment in worship during these precious nights of the year, which I share in this Instagram video…
