Imam Shafi’i said something to the effect of…

“I would only enter a debate with someone if I was certain the truth would end up on their lips.” I’ve reached a point where I find no value in arguing with anyone about the deen, and I spend very little time with people who do. As a result people find it very annoying that they can’t figure out which label to put on me: ‘salafi’, ‘sufi’, ‘brelwi’, ‘naqshbandi’ etc.

The truth is, all of these labels are just identification strategies, that we made unconsciously, in order to fit in with a group of people we like, or in order to separate ourselves from a group of people we don’t like. My problem is: I like everyone who reads this blog 😉
