Gabrielle was right. Dreams can come true.

(Sorry Millennials, if you don’t get that reference. Really, I’m sorry).

But, the saying is true, on many levels.

Some spiritual teachers of the Islamic tradition actually have ijaza (a license to use & teach) dream interpretation. In fact, I once visited a shaykh gifted with this skill to ask him about a dream I had.

As I was explaining the dream to him, I had a sudden moment of hesitation and embarrassment as I realised that one of the people who appeared in the dream was actually… well… his daughter! (Awks.)

Fortunately, he shared something with me that made me realise how out-of-my-league this prophetic dream-interpretation methodology is.

He said that his daughter’s appearance in my dream had absolutely nothing to do with her, or me, or our connection or anything like that. In fact, it had nothing to do with her as a person. You see, most Muslims have Arabic names, and each of those names has a very powerful, deep meaning in the Arabic language. Sometimes in dreams, the appearance of  a person, is because of the meaning of their name in Arabic, not necessarily the presence of the person themselves.

That was the case for my dream. In my case her presence just represented the meaning ’safety’. Which made a lot of sense in context, and thankfully saved an awkward, “Sooo… you’re dreaming about my daughter, are you…?” kind of conversation.

But, that’s not the only way in which dreams can come true. It’s also possible that right now, you dream up a much better life for yourself. Maybe living in a different location, doing different work, travelling, having things you’ve never had before or doing things you’ve never done before. And, just as you can dream it, more often than not, you can make it happen.

In fact, after going through the Dreams To Destiny process, I’ve found that most people have very relevant dreams (even if they seem crazy at first), that make perfect sense for them, and send them in a certain direction for good reason.

It could even be that the very fact that Allah, in His Infinite Wisdom, gave you a dream that’s unique to you and by acting on it, you move closer to your highest, most beautiful destiny.
