On Tuesday 11th of June at 4:36am my big sister Sonia, aged 39, mother of three beautiful girls aged 6, 9 and 12, passed away due to a bacterial “super-bug” infection that to date has no antibiotic.

The day after the funeral, I was asked to talk to my family and close family-friends about what “Islam” has to say about this tragedy.

Here is a short audio recording of that talk, with my reflections on what happened, a few verses of the Quran, and a way that her children, our whole family and perhaps you too, can develop an enormous amount of resilience (sabr), that will stay with you when you need it most.

Feel free to download this talk to your iPhone or MP3 Player, enjoy it, and above all, please do pray for my beloved sister and her 3 beautiful children.

Thank you, and may you be eternally rewarded.
